Hello devs and list lurkers
I'm very happy to give you a first preview of the all new skin for Roundcube webmail. It was created by FLINT, the very talented graphic designer who already designed our website. He worked hundreds of hours for free just to make Roundcube look good. And I'm very happy with the result, the design is very stylish and modern while still being functional and it makes our current default skin look like Squirrelmail ;-)
So have a look at the drafts over here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/roundcube/sets/72157627599045023/
The fake contents of the screens are in German and they include some features which are not yet implemented but it's nice to have an idea of the future.

I totally agree! It looks very good! Is the calendar a new feature or is it a plugin? Same question to the uploadbar (html5?)...
Good work! I love the new design :D

Wow... congrats and thanks for that.
Will this replace the current default or will it be a second option for old installs of RC?
Look very good and nice feature suggestions.
There are plans to use jQuery UI to build the new look?
The work on the new interface will begin after the 0.6 release?
I can work on it, I'm good at cross-browser html + css coding.

Yes, the idea is to make this the new default. Maintaining two skins is quite expensive and thus the current default skin will die unless somebody is willing to keep it updated.

This will be taken into account but there's nothing decided yet. jquery UI is already available as a plugin which is shipped with Roundcube by default and we'll definitely adapt the new style to jquery UI widgets as well.
The work on the new interface will begin after the 0.6 release?
What you see are first drafts and we're waiting to get the final files to start implementing it.
I can work on it, I'm good at cross-browser html + css coding.
Thanks for that offer! Once everything is ready to take off, we'll probably get back to you. However, I assume that some changes to the core will be necessary as well, in order to cover all the nice features of the new skin. So please expect some months for this to become reality...
