The body of the (probably spam) message attached can't be displayed in RC 0.9.4 and 1.0-git (Win7/64 and IE8). Roundcube keeps displaying "Loading..." forever at the top of the screen.
It's even tricky to download it as an .eml, and I can't recall how I (accidentally) managed it after several unsuccessful attempts. Usually all menu commands such as "Download (.eml)" or "Show source" do not react anymore at all, also "Toggle raw message headers" doesn't work. All that is being displayed in the preview pane, are the standard headers.
The only string that I changed with a hex editor in the attached message, are the several occurrences of the address of the original recipient.
Replicable...?

Eh, funny: After I sent my message below with the (spam?) message attached, the list did of course send it to me, and THIS list copy was sorted into my spam folder. The original (spam?) message wasn't.
Strange... So it did arrive in the list apparently, but did you guys receive at all then?

Displayed fine for me in git from yesterday, Michael.

Thanks, Arne. Well, probably a browser issue then? (My git is of today.)
Not only that the body of the original message is not being displayed here, even when "just" being attached (as in my message to the list) the body stays invisible - with the same effect of the forever staying "Loading..." display at the top and the "freezed" (= non-reacting) menu commands.
IE8 doesn't report any Javascript errors in the lower left corner.

Could well be the browser. I will admit that my organization avoids IE when possible, so I didn't look at it there.
But this is exactly the type of situation I had in mind when I put in the feature request for a way to toggle between text/html in the display frame. When it is failing to load, have you tried toggling to text?

Understood, but one of the reasons that I'm still using IE8 is exactly to test Roundcube with it - and to report any issues.

Ah, that was your request? Thought it was mine. ;) (But due to different reasons)
When it is failing to load, have you tried toggling to text?
Sure, but also this function is "dead" upon loading the message, it doesn't react at all. I first have to stop loading it (by clicking on the red cross right next to the URL input field or pressing Esc), then select another message, and then all those menu commands and toggles are working again - but only with any other message, of course.
So this message doesn't only display correctly, it is also disabling RC functions and commands (or how you want to call it) - at least in IE8. But it's the first and only message where I encountered this behaviour.

Understood. I'm stretched so thin here that I don't have time to test on browsers that aren't in general use here. But IE still sees some use regardless, so I'm thankful that there are others who are testing things I can't get to. Thank you!

I think so. :D - http://trac.roundcube.net/ticket/1486939

I was afraid that might be the case. My original request was for messages that display oddly. Messages that lock up the process are a totally different issue.

Confirmed also in IE9 and fixed in af79a7b837151af793b5bd2788de3635ab96b1e3.

Fix confirmed also for IE8, thanks!
Just being curious: Was the message malformed (HTML comments inside style tag), or is this another braindead IE bug?

The HTML was malformed indeed, but the problem was with it's <style> tag content malformed by Roundcube.
