Hmm. What is the sense/background of changes like this:
-$messages['deletecontactconfirm'] = 'Wollen Sie die ausgewählten Kontakte wirklich löschen?'; -$messages['deletegroupconfirm'] = 'Wollen Sie die gewählte Gruppe wirklich löschen?'; +$messages['deletecontactconfirm'] = 'Wollen Sie die ausgewählten Kontakte wirklich löschen?'; +$messages['deletegroupconfirm'] = 'Wollen Sie die gewählte Gruppe wirklich löschen?';
The only change I can see is an additional white space preceding the "=" (now two instead of just one before).
And if this should really make sense: Why then in de_CH, but apparently not in de_DE?

Please see the original commit "de2009: Pulled de_CH translations from Transifex (first test)". I guess the commit messages pretty much explains everything. This one was just a merge of Alec's local master with the remote master.

I totally missed your post with regards to the move to Transifex, sorry for that. Although the commit does not explain everything to me, I now know at least what it's about.
In your post, you wrote:

There is no link "Join team" on that (or any other) page?! Others must have found it, as they already joined the team, but honestly, I can't see it. There is a link "SIGN UP FREE", but that's not the right one, I guess. What to do...?
BTW, in the last visible line of the commit, there are three errors:

Still can't find a "Join team" link on https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/roundcube-webmail/language/de_DE/ (IE8).

Thanks a lot, Geert, that wasn't mentioned in Thomas' message.
Did so, confirmed the link in the e-mail, and indeed the link "Join team" was now visible. Clicked on it, got a small AJAX window with a button "Join language translation", clicked that button, but received no response. Clicked again, again no response.
Accidentally sent the message too early, sorry for that.
Screenshot attached, this way it stays forever, no matter how many times I click on that "Join language translation" button. This isn't the way it should work, should it?
Well, we'll see if anything will gonna happen...

Have you tried an other browser already? I had no problems joining but I used Firefox, maybe there is a bug in the Transifex website only for IE. Alternatively Alec or Thomas can add you as a translator by filling in your username in the list of translator. The option is 'Edit language team'.

Well, but do these folks at Transifex not test their site with the various browsers...?
GitHub is at least throwing a warning that they do not support IE8 anymore (although I didn't have any issue with the GitHub site yet). But neither giving a warning nor testing nor supporting it, looks a bit, uh, ignorant to me.

Apparently the entire Transifex site is incompatible with IE8 (or vice versa). :-(
Logged in, clicked in de_DE on language resources "plugin-archive" and "Webmail Labels" just for testing purposes, clicked on "Translate now", and afterwards got an AJAX message "Loading strings..." which I can watch forever, but nothing gets loaded.
Clicked on the browser's back button, now both resources "plugin-archive" and "Webmail Labels" appear as "Locked", whatever that means and why they are locked at all.

Hi Michael,
Why don't you switch to Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, etc?
Browsing with IE is like driving an old carriage on the freeway. Or worse...

Translations are locked when you start translating a component, so that translations from other users won't interfere your translations. IIRC the locks are resolved automatically within 24 hours but as you were probably the one who set the lock in the first place, you can probably translate strings despite the lock.
Are you tied to this version of IE or to IE at all? I would recommend to upgrade your browser or install another one. I had no problems with Transifex at all using a recent version of Firefox.

As I don't even see any strings (see my previous messages), I can of course also not translate (or correct) any of them.

In several ways, yes:
Policy Management Console, GPMC), unless that should have changed recently, which I'd not be aware of. Not sure about Chrome and others, but I doubt that they'll support it.
who is deliberately testing this browser version with Roundcube and reporting any issues. Apparently no one of the developers is doing this himself.
The history of 2) is that after release of Roundcube 0.8.1 in August 2012, all of a sudden it was almost unusable with IE8: A single click on any mail (or any other link within Rouncube such as "Settings") made Roundcube disappear completely (well, it's window was "just" thrown to the background, which a standard user may not even realize).
So I agreed with Thomas to act as a sort of IE8 tester. As long as Roundcube is supporting it, of course.
I think I posted that to this list already quite some time ago.
I would recommend to upgrade your browser
I believe there is no way to install (and run) IE8 and IE9/10 side-by-side.
or install another one. I had no problems with Transifex at all using a recent version of Firefox.
Well... Honestly, I don't like websites too much which do only support the very latest version of (a) specific browser(s), and want to force me to install even more software on my machine than really needed - even less when not giving any warning (different to GitHub). Especially tech oriented websites such as Transifex which are meant to act as a sort of programming tool, should show some more sense for downwards compatibility as the fancy ones, IMO.
So I would recommend to fix the website. ;)
Also that they let me use an Avatar through gravatar.com only, does not make this site too sympathic to me. Well, so I won't use an Avatar, but I'm asking myself why these Transifex folks are going this way. Makes me suspicious.
I'll probably try to loan an iPad from somewhere and do the translations/corrections from there, if Safari should be compatible with Transifex...

I'm not saying it's a "big" deal. But it's a deal - at least I will have to install the stuff and wasting space on my HD. And as I said, I'm reluctant to install this and that software (i.e. browser) just because of ONE weak tech oriented website, which wants me to do so because they are neither willing nor able to a) throw any warning, and b) support the standard browser of a Win7/64 system, which can't be considered as being totally outdated.
I honour Roundcube and its developers a lot for still supporting IE8 and doing these and those hacks where so required. That's how a decent web app should work.
Wondering why no one (but me) does blame the Transifex website rather than IE8.
And believe me, I'm definitely not one of M$ biggest friends....

Of course Transifex is to blame. Either support IE8 or warn users that IE8 is not supported. But did you report this to the Transifex developers? I guess they should be the ones in charge of fixing this issue. Roundcube is merely an user of Transifex. Not meant to be offensive, but I think the problem will be fixed faster when addressed to the right people.
