Roundcube Webmail 1.2-beta out now
by Thomas Bruederli 24 Nov '15

24 Nov '15

We're proud to announce that the beta release of the next major version 1.2 of Roundcube webmail is out now for download and testing. With this milestone we introduce new features primarily focusing on security and PGP encryption: * PHP7 compatibility * PGP encryption * Drag-n-drop attachments from mail preview to compose window * Mail messages searching with predefined date interval * Improved security measures to protect from brute-force attacks And of course plenty of small improvements and bug fixes. The PGP encryption support in Roundcube comes with two options: Mailvelope -------------- The integration of this browser plugin [1] for Firefox and Chrome comes out of the box in Roundcube 1.2 and is enabled if the Mailvelope API is detected in a user's browser. See the Mailvelope documentation [2] how to enable it for your site. Read more about the Mailvelope integration and how this looks like in Alec's blog [3]. Enigma plugin ------------------- This Roundcube plugin adds server-side PGP encryption features to Roundcube. Enabling this means that users need to fully trust the webmail server as encryption is done on the server GnuPG and private keys are also stored there. In order to activate server-side PGP encryption for all your users, the 'enigma' plugin, which is shipped with this package, has to be enabled in the Roundcube config. See the plugin's README for details. Also read Alec's blogpost about the Enigma plugin and how it works [4]. Both encryption features are pretty new and not yet perfectly documented. We'd much appreciate your feedback and your contribution to the end-user documentation [5] or our wiki page [6]. IMPORTANT: with this version, we finally deprecate some old Roundcube library functions [7]. Plugin developers, please test your plugins thoroughly and look for deprecation warnings in the logs. These function will be removed in the final 1.2.0 release and can therefore render plugins dysfunctional. See the full changelog on trac.roundcube.net [8] and download the new packages from https://roundcube.net/download Please note that this is a beta release and we recommend to test it on a separate environment. And don't forget to backup your data before installing it! Enjoy and please share your experience either through our mailing lists or as comments in the blog posts mentioned above. Message Copy to Folder button?
by Jari Fredriksson 23 Nov '15

23 Nov '15

Hello. I remember seeing this kind of a button in some version of Roundcube, it was under Centos 7. Now I'm using the version shipped in Debian Wheezy (Raspbian), and it seems not to have it. Is that a feature of some addon, theme package or something? How could I enable it in this? Thanks. -- jarif.bit

Roundcube inserting blank space at the start of email
by Steve Perkins 29 Oct '15

29 Oct '15

Hi All I have a curious problem (probably shown on this email) where Roundcube (I assume) is inserting blank space at the top of emails. It happens on new mail, replies and forwards but it doesn't insert the space until after I hit send. It's also not consistent - happens sometimes not others even exactly replicating the process. If I look at the source, the text version has a couple bonus linefeeds, and the html version has : <p> </p> <div> </div> I'm not inserting any blanks, and it happens even if I create an email and type just one word, no space key, no enter key. Does seem to only be html compose so maybe TinyMCE issue ? Its not exactly the end of the world, but it is a little annoying. I'm on the latest version: 1.1.3 Anyway, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Steve

Mails not displayed in 1.1.3?
by Markus Wernig 18 Oct '15

18 Oct '15

Hi all I must be missing something basic ... On two installations of 1.1.3 (one a fresh install, the other an upgrade from 0.7.2) I get the same symptom: User logs in successfully, IMAP folders are displayed in the left navigation bar, together with the correct count of unread messages, but the folder contents are not shown. I.e. no mails can be read. Whenever a user clicks on a folder, the "Loading..." animated bar appears and stays there forever (some minutes) before disappearing. Nothing is displayed on most folders. Strangely, for _some_ folders, some messages ARE displayed, and if that happens, it's always the latest messages that were added in that folder. Any hint for a lost soul? thx /markus

LDAP configuration issue
by Ervin Hegedüs 13 Oct '15

13 Oct '15

Hi there, I would like to make an LDAP addressbook. I've found this documentation: http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Howto_Config/Ldap http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Howto_Config_LDAP Looks like this is an old version (the newer version of LDAP doesn't use slapd.conf. There is a script, which creates RoundCube LDAP user, and subtree for addressbook. (http://trac.roundcube.net/attachment/wiki/Howto_Config/Ldap/rcabook-setup.sh) I've installed an OpenLDAP server, which has a "new-style" configuration. When I execute that script, I got an error: RoundCube user could't make the private and public subtree's. My first question is, why? I didn't fond the solution. Okay, I've made it as (LDAP) admin (the subtrees). Then the RoundCube LDAP user could't write those subtree's. The error message is: ldap_add: Insufficient access (50) additional info: no write access to parent Could anybody helps? Thanks, a. -- I UTF-8
