replication problems with database_attachments plugin
by Micah Anderson 05 Jan '16

05 Jan '16

Hi, I've got the database_attachments plugin enabled because I have multiple machines with a memcached session store. It seems to work fairly well... except that I am replicating the database to a read-only slave for redundancy (and read-balancing) and the replication keeps breaking. The slave will get this error: Could not execute Delete_rows event on table roundcube.cache; Can't find record in 'cache', Error_code: 1032; handler error HA_ERR_KEY_NOT_FOUND; the event's master log mysql-bin.000151, end_log_pos 182376 I've got a db_dnsw and db_dnsr configured in my roundcube config, could it be that roundcube is also writing to the db_dnsr causing entries to be removed on the slave, and then when the replication happens it fails because it has been removed on the slave already? I tried to look at mysql-bin.000151 for the 182376 event, but couldn't find it. Ideally, I wouldn't even replicate the roundcube.cache table, because its a *lot* of data, but if I dont replicate it, I suspect the db_dnsr would fail to find the records? thanks for any suggestions for things to check, micah

S/MIME done!
by Владимир Горпенко 02 Jan '16

Hi I know about development list. I have subscribed to this list a few weeks ago. It looks completely dead. When I needed information about developing, I tried to ask a question on that list. There was no answer. I have written here for information only, as I hope, that this information may be interesting. Regarding the creation of a separate branch of RC, that's impossible. I have a lot of work, and I can not carry the whole project. I was engaged in this task for two or three months only because it was necessary for my work. I think there are three more options. 1. Simple and realistic. Developers RC found my fix unacceptable. RC will be developed according to their plans, my problem is solved. All the rest are waiting for Enigma or other plugin. 2. Practical, but ugly. Developers agree with my patch, I bring plugins to the minimum complete form and put them in any repo. 3. Fantastic. Somebody takes the trouble to explain me how to do everything without my corrections. Perhaps we find a better way to solve the problem. I rework my plugins, and put them in a repo. Maybe someone who is engaged in the solution of this problem, wants to take advantage of my results. I am ready to help. Maybe someone needed S/MIME encryption so that he wants to use my design in the form in which it exist. I am ready to help. Best regards, Vladimir Gorpenko

S/MIME done!
by Владимир Горпенко 02 Jan '16

Hi! So, I did it! Before the end of the year, as promised. S/MIME encryption, decryption, signing and signature verification works. Of course, this is not the final version. )) 3 modules of RC were changed. I had to add some new hooks and use one deprecated hook. I made a separate plugin to work with certificates and keys. Now I have a very simple plugin that uses files to store keys and certificates. I hope that the developers of the RC show interest in my work. I am also ready to transfer texts and discuss the work done. If this work is interesting only for me, this letter - the last one I'm posting here. Sorry to trouble you, Vladimir Gorpenko

Re: [RCU] S/MIME done!

Hi Alberto! I will clarify my answer, sent to you by email. My solution is not embeded into the text of RC. It consists of two plugins: one for message processing and another for certificates management. However, I've added 3 new hooks, fixed one obvious mistake in the RC text and made one patch that requires discussion. Without the participation of the team RC, these changes will not be made to the RC. Therefore, at this stage is useless to publish my plugins. They simply can not be used. Best regards, Vladimir Gorpenko

Fwd: [dev] Do we really want PHP 7 in Mageia 6?
by Thomas Spuhler 30 Dec '15

---------- Forwarded Message ---------- Subject: [dev] Do we really want PHP 7 in Mageia 6? Date: Monday, December 28, 2015, 05:32:19 PM From: Pascal Terjan <pterjan(a)gmail.com> To: dev(a)ml.mageia.org <dev(a)ml.mageia.org> SWIG does not support PHP7 and will probably not anytime soon as the API has changed a lot [1] and the main person working on PHP support in SWIG does not have time for it [2]. So we probably have 3 solutions: - Go back to php5 - Disable php support in most packages - Support 2 versions [1] https://wiki.php.net/phpng-upgrading [2] https://github.com/swig/swig/issues/571 ----------------------------------------- Timotheus: See the e-mail above. The discussion is right now going into the direction of going back to PHP-5.6 for our next release. This would enable libkolab and libkolabxml to build again. -- Best Regards Thomas Spuhler

PHP requirements
by Maurice de Laat 27 Dec '15

27 Dec '15

Hi, Can someone explain me what the PHP requirements are for roundcube. On the hompage it says "PHP Version 5.3.7 or greater", but on the wiki it says "PHP version 5.2.1 or greater"? I have roundcube 1.0.2 running on php 5.3.3, and would like to know if I can install updates or not. Thank you! Maurice

Security Updates 1.1.4 and 1.0.8 released
by Thomas Bruederli 26 Dec '15

26 Dec '15

Dear Roundcube users We just published updates to both stable versions 1.0 and 1.1 delivering important bug fixes one of which seals a potential path traversal vulnerability [1] recently reported by High-Tech Bridge Security Research Lab. Although the vulnerability is not fully disclosed yet, the attack scenario requires an active Roundcube account as well as write privileges on the same host Roundcube is served from (without open_basedir protection). A second security improvement adds some measures against brute-force attacks. See the full changelog here: http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Changelog#RELEASE1.1.4 Both versions are considered stable and we recommend to update all productive installations of Roundcube with either of these versions. Download them from https://roundcube.net/download If you prefer to patch your installation for the path traversal vulnerability only, we also published patches on our download mirrors for versions 1.0 [2] and 1.1 [3]. As usual, don't forget to backup your data before updating! Thanks for all your support and happy new year! Config: ssl:// vs tls://
by Paul Schreiber 16 Dec '15

16 Dec '15

For my configuration to work, I have to use ssl:// for IMAP and tls:// for SMTP: $config['default_host'] = 'ssl://shrub.ca'; $config['default_port'] = 993; $config['smtp_server'] = 'tls://shrub.ca'; $config['smtp_port'] = 587; (1) Why is that? (2) Would/can you ever use tls:// with IMAP? In which cases? (3) Why would SMTP fail with ssl://? ERROR: fsockopen(): unable to connect to ssl://localhost:587 (Unknown error) (0) ERROR: Failed to connect socket: fsockopen(): unable to connect to ssl://localhost:587 (Unknown error) () <5kagdbq1> SMTP Error: Connection failed: Failed to connect socket: fsockopen(): unable to connect to ssl://localhost:587 (Unknown error) in /usr/local/roundcube/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube.php on line 1587 (POST /?_task=mail&_unlock=loading1450230927143&_lang=en_US&_framed=1?_task=mail&_action=send) ERROR: fsockopen(): unable to connect to ssl://shrub.ca:587 (Unknown error) (0) ERROR: Failed to connect socket: fsockopen(): unable to connect to ssl:// shrub.ca:587 (Unknown error) () <5kagdbq1> SMTP Error: Connection failed: Failed to connect socket: fsockopen(): unable to connect to ssl://shrub.ca:587 (Unknown error) in /usr/local/roundcube/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube.php on line 1587 (POST /?_task=mail&_unlock=loading1450230965840&_lang=en_US&_framed=1?_task=mail&_action=send) Paul
