"do not know if dovecot has something to do with it" indicates you are on the wrong list - honestly dovecot or whatever server has *all* to do with it because RC is only a MUA, not more and not less
i use roundcube. And enable managesieve plugin.
I realy dont know why it not work.
can you help me. I really need a help

please do not top-post! contact whoever is repsonsible for the mailserver
as long as you can not answer if sieve works from a different client or even not knowing if sieve is configured on the mailserver you are hardly not the mail-admin or should not be - so *contact him*
as many other people in the past you need to understand what roundcube is - a mail-client which supports a bundle of features *as long* they are supported and configured on the mailserver it talks to
so,
my mail server is postfix + dovecot
but cant find support to configure with roundcube....

While I wouldn't have stated it as bluntly as Harald did, he is right. This list is not the correct place to ask the question.
The managesieve plugin does not perform the filtering. It is a tool to allow a user to configure sieve services on the IMAP server to do the filtering. For that to happen, the IMAP server must have sieve support installed and configured. That must be done and tested before there is any hope of using the filter settings from the plugin.

Hi all,
I'm trying to install Roundcube but struggling. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm trying to get it working with SQLite, since I don't want to upgrade PHP from 5.2.17 at this point, and don't want to run PostgreSQL on the server.
I installed SQLite version 2.8.17. When I enter "sqlite" on the command line I get the interface, so it's working.
I ran the 2 commands specified in the INSTALL file to set up the sqlite.db file.
The installer reports:
SQLite: OK SQLite (v2): NOT AVAILABLE (See http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.pdo-sqlite.php)
I'm guessing this is to do with the PHP drivers for SQLite. When I run phpinfo it appears that the SQLite PDO is there, but maybe I'm wrong. It says:
to SQLite 3.x.
So it seems that's ok, but maybe not?
Any advice appreciated, or let me know if further info is needed.
Thanks in advance, Nigel
Forgot to mention this is CentOS 5.8 and Apache 2.2.

why do you insist in PHP 5.2 years after upstream support stopped and 5.4 had 16 patchlevels and now 5.5 is even available as GA?
you can be sure virtually nobody is testing his applications really careful with heavy outdated PHP versions and even crap like wordpress/joomla works since years with 5.3
*any* application thes edays not running with PHP 5.3 has to be removed from public servers because it is dead code

Because there is not a great deal of PHP running on the server, and I need to test what there is with 5.3 before upgrading, which I haven't done yet.
If you're unhappy about it being PHP 5.2.17 then you'd have been even more unhappy 6 months ago when I was still running PHP 4 as a cgi for one of the sites! So at least the PHP 4 is gone now!!

So you are saying that NOT AVAILABLE means it is not possible to support SQLite 2 for Roudcube with this version of PHP? Rather than there is something I can do to make it work?

Passive observer of this ( quite entertaining ) dialogue,
but have to agree. I'm running RC 0.92 very successfully using Dovecot/Postfix ( which is actually irrelevant as RC is the MUA ) on a Raspberry Pi - only difference being, i'm using up to date PHP and other dependent software.
If your question is how do I get RC 0.92 to install correctly, then the answer is surely upgrade your very outdated PHP. The end. It's not hard, and surely there can't be any reason not too?
Why should RC developers try and make their product fit such an old version of PHP?
If you want to use such old technology, then use squirrel mail or Horde or something of the same genre ;)

Have you consider upgrading your human-to-human interface software to something a little more respectful? It causes a lot of problems for third parties when you are so rude. I strongly recommend you shouldn't interact with anything that is connected to other humans until you do.

it's pervert not care about the core-software and then insist installing most recent packages on it

I must say that I am surprised that you don't seem to care about respect. Treating others with respect is fundamental to being able to cooperate in any situation. And that respect can not be conditional on the choices that person makes regarding his server installation.
Furthermore, respect is a top rules for conduct in a mailing list. If you can't be more respectful in the way you help others, I kindly ask that you consider whether it would be better not to help at all.

Glad to hear that what I have seen on this list since I joined 24 hours ago does not typify the fare!

You two guys are now set moderation mode until you learned how to behave on public mailing lists.
Period.

I have just received two incredibly abusive emails from Reindl Harald. One via the list which I guess you will not allow through, and one direct to my email address alone.
Please remove this man from the list so that nobody else has to be subject to his abusive behaviour in the future.

No it certainly does not! Harald is a right pain on other lists I'm subscribed to, like dovecot, mysql and fedora, and is likely that nasty on every other list he is on. Noel has called him out on his bullying on dovecot list recently, and did so here by calling him a troll (kinda funny with ascii text) and was in my opinion very wrongly put in the same class as Harald and booted as well.
But know with Harald moderated you may expect the noise level to die.

I agree with you, I think Noel was on the money and shouldn't be put in the same class either. Bring back Noel!
Just thought I'd update on the original topic here.
There was some suggestion that I was saying RC should support PHP 5.2.17. I was not. The installer was telling me that it was supported with SQLite, and I was trying to make use of that option. I have no problem with RC not supporting < PHP 5.3, although it would be nice if the installer made it clear that it does not (perhaps it does with PostgreSQL which I did not want to use; anyway the installer does not report properly regarding SQLite in the situation I was in). It would also be nice if the INSTALL file could be updated so it is accurate in relation to SQLite.
I upgraded to PHP 5.3 last night, and one of the two sites using older code that I was concerned about is fine. The other remains to be tested by the client who runs it, which I guess will be done later today.
Roundcube is up and running and I am very pleased with it. Thanks for the great software and to Noel and Seb for the advice.
Nigel

So you are saying that NOT AVAILABLE means it is not possible to support SQLite 2 for Roudcube with this version of PHP? Rather than there is something I can do to make it work?
search for PECL external extensions to php, maybe sqlite3 is there ? :)
dont use precompiled problems to vote on it does not work
Nigel Peck skrev den 2013-07-04 00:37:
Forgot to mention this is CentOS 5.8 and Apache 2.2.
make a bugreport to get centos to support sqlite in php
its in there hands to fix it
or rebuild from srpm to have it done self

I found here "http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.pdo-sqlite.connection.php" that "The sqlite2 driver is only available in PHP 5.1.x if you have enabled both PDO and ext/sqlite". So, it looks that in PHP 5.2 sqlite v2 might be not supported by PDO. Someone could confirm that, but I suppose we can safely remove check for v2 driver in Roundcube installer.
