FYI: Log error after upgrade from 20051020 to 20051203

Did the upgrade today. Getting this error when sending mail: Warning: fopen(logs/sendmail): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/public_html/webmail/program/steps/mail/sendmail.inc on line 286 This says its trying to open a file called sendmail in logs. Looking in, there is no file named sendmail in logs/. Create the file, then set the permissions on the file to 777 so the server can write to it.

Headers being ignored

Greetings all. I saw on the dorkzilla lists that this has been touched upon before, but I didn't see a resolution. We have a few users that are using roundcube mail (moving away from squirrelmail), and this doesn't happen with them all and it doesn't happen to all of our outlook clients either. I use tbird or outlook 2003. I don't see the problem when recieving emails from the roundcube users but our Plant manager who uses outlook xp only gets the subject header. name and date headers are blank. Any help would be appreciated. Rob

Imap request timeouts

Hi all, This discussion point is more of a request for better fault tolerance than a feature request ;) For one reason or another, our imap backend is currently proving to be unreliable. Given the age of the underlying database, inconsistencies and/or message corruption has been occasionally noticed. As a result, when we try to load such messages, the operation cannot be completed and eventually times out (after the default 180 seconds). This effectively hangs RoundCube for this period of time. We were thinking it would be nice if the "Loading/Please wait" ajax pop-up displayed via show_message() contained a "Cancel" button. That way operations that were taking too long could be manually terminated, restoring control back to the user. As a work-around, we've temporarily shortened the this.request_timeout period in js/apps.js from 180 seconds down to 30. Regards, John.

Hi, There's one bug with charsets.. I'm using finnish translation and on the main screen the word "Tänään" ("Today" in finnish) the scandinavian characters seem to be UTF8 or something - "?" on black square on it tip? As I read one of these mails the viewer is perfect and when I return to the main page the characters are perfect. As I then order the messages (by date for example) the characters go wrong again. All the time on the other fields (Subject / Sender) these characters are OK. -- Kari Päivärinta

Signature placement

Hi all, Tried the new Signature feature and noticed that when you reply to an email it puts the sig at the bottom below all the messages, should it not be at the top, where one(I) would create the reply? Or an option to have it appear on the top or bottom of the email.

Hi, on a sidenote, this discussion all runs into a "plugin/API" thread. I don't think any password changer should be part of roundcubemail per se, because there are too many different MTAs and too many ways people would like to see it implemented anyhow. Has anyone given a plugin-API some thought? Thanks, Till P.S. It can not be stressed enough, that you guys created a brilliant piece of software! :-)

is this a timeout error?

Some of my users complain RC times out, especially after they have been composing a large message and try to send it. Looking in the error log, is this message related to a timeout? "[08-Dec-2005 08:46:43] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in /home/public_html/webmail/program/lib/imap.inc on line 105"

RC marks mail as read when $rcmail_config['enable_caching'] = FALSE;

In testing another change in the caching code, I switched this from TRUE to FALSE. When it was TRUE, the inbox was not setting messages as being read. When I turned off caching, it started working normally. Question about this though: it says when TRUE, cache messages & mailbox data in local database. permissions problem?

We've been getting problems when forwarding certain messages. Results in an error 406. I think I've tracked this to a problem with how RC is handling certain message headers, as I posted in another email. I'm also concerned about these errors in the logs, and I think they're related. It seems like RC is not able to create the temp folders it needs in the temp directory. I've set permissions on the temp folder and func.inc to 777 for testing purposes, but it still can't create the directory. Anyone have some ideas about this?
