Hello As this was asked quite a few times on the mailing lists and the forum, we now added a utility to help you changing settings stored in user preferences: bin/moduserprefs.sh Usage: moduserprefs.sh [--user=user-id] pref-name [pref-value|--delete] --user User ID in local database --delete Unset the given preference If for example you want to reset all your user's message listing order, simply execute $ bin/userprefs.sh message_sort_col date Beside changing user prefs you can also unset them and make all users fall back to the default value from the global configuration: $ bin/userprefs.sh skin --delete This new utility is currently only available in git-master but will be part of the upcoming 0.9-beta release. Jabber Chat for all roundcube users

Hi, I wonder wether it is possible to have a roundcube plugin that provides integration with a local jabber server in that way, that it automatically uses the users uid and password to authenticate. If configured it should automatically add all available usernames to the contact list, so we are able to initiate a chat with online ones. This last thing could be easily achieved through the jabber-server itself -> shared roaster. How about that "use user's roundcube ID+pass" for local jabber server? regards, Henning

help needed writing spamstatus plugin

Hi, I'm trying to create a spamstatus plugin which should accomplish these tasks: - flag messages in list view - flag messages in message view - option to select all flagged messages This is no take on another local filter plugin, filtering is up to Sieve. What I want to achieve is RC displays an icon on messages that have been marked by SpamAssassin or any other filter. Alpha code is available at https://github.com/capncrunch/spamstatus I'm running into a couple of issues here: - I have no clue how to add an icon into list view. I could use colors but would prefer an icon. - I'm currently displaying an icon in front of the sender in message view but would prefer to display this icon in front of the subject. Problem is RC is HTML escaping the code when I put it in front of the subject field. - I added an icon to the listcontrols container manually. I tried using add_button instead but didn't get any output. - How do I make the select button to actually select all spam messages? Reading through the source code of RC suggests select-all isn't extendable like this. This is supposed to be used on a virtual RC farm running on Debian stable so code needs to be compatible with RC 0.3.1 and I can't modify RC itself. I'd be very grateful if anybody could provide me with a hint to my problems above. Patch for 0.8.3, new release is coming soon

Hello folks, We kind of made it a tradition in Roundcube to add some nasty bugs with every second release we publish :-) This time a pull request accidentally was merged into the release branch instead of git-master where we usually do the testing. The effect of this bug is the compose screen randomly reloading and likely loosing the contents you're writing. There's a patch you can download [1] and apply to any 0.8.3 installation. Issues on Updates

I just updated our Roundcube-Stable Installation from 0.8.2 to 0.8.3 via ./bin/installto.sh and found 3 not so good thing in the main.inc.php. 1. The Config-Line for the Useragent: The old line was: $rcmail_config['useragent'] = 'Roundcube Webmail/'.RCMAIL_VERSION; installto.sh sets it to: $rcmail_config['useragent'] = 'Roundcube Webmail/0.8.3'; 2. Config-Lines from plugins that must be configure in the main.inc.php are lost. Here it is the plugin show_additional_headers and the line $rcmail_config['show_additional_headers'] = array('Content-Type', 'Content-Transfer-Encoding', 'User-Agent', 'Mailer', 'X-Mailer', 'X-Newsreader', 'X-Posting-Agent', 'X-Http-User-Agent', 'X-MimeOLE'); 3. Issue with listen events in 0.9-git?

The attached plugin keyboard_shortcuts v2.0 doesn't work anymore with RC 0.9-git and IE8. It does work flawlessly with RC 0.8.2 and IE8, though. So the question is: Has there been any significant change in 0.9-git with regards to listen events which may make this plugin inoperative? I did already contact Cor Bosman who removed some Javascript debug code and released v2.0.2 (see also attached). This partially solved the problem, but I'm still running into situations where certain keys (especially the help "?" key) don't work from time to time. So we're somewhat stuck at this stage. As even keyboard_shortcuts v2.0 (WITH the debug code) works with RC 0.8.2 and IE8, it more seems to be an RC issue rather than a plugin issue. Probably in combination with a browser issue. Update 0.8.4 is out

Dear Roundcube lovers, We just published new packages for Roundcube webmail. This service update mainly fixes the nasty bug which sneaked into the last 0.8.3 release. In addition to that, we also packed some more fixes into this release, one of them a recently reported XSS vulnerability. The buggy previous version makes the compose screen to randomly reload itself which may result in a loss of the unsent message. So if you already installed 0.8.3, please immediately update your installation with this new version. Hey all, ive been wondering if we couldnt make a change to the way templates are rendered. If you look at the way this happens now, I think it's kinda backwards. Normally a plugin would call output->parse() to load a template, then inside the template add containers or objects to load data. Then this data is usually created inside php with kind of ugly code like: $out .= ''<div id="mydiv">'; This totally counteracts the reason for having templates! Wouldnt it be possible to add an associative data array to the parse function: $output->parse('my_plugin.my_template', $data); All elements inside the data array then get changed to variables that are usable inside the template. $data = { 'my_array' =>array('1','2','3'), 'my_var' => $var } So in the template you can say: ------- <div id="mydiv"> <ul> <?= foreach($my_array as $somevar) : ?> <li><?= $somevar ?></li> <? endforeach; ?> </ul> </div> ------- You can maybe do something similar using <roundcube:env..> but it seems no one actually uses that. keep-alive changes

Digging into session issues I've found this keep-alive thing a little bit overcomplicated and unclear. The keep-alive setting handles two things: session keeping and new-mail checking. Some plugins also bind to keep-alive to do some recurring actions (e.g. to display calendar alarms, etc.). I think we should split these functionalities. So keep-alive action should be used only for session keeping. In such case we need to execute keep-alive action only after some inactivity time (e.g. session_lifetime - 1min [or 5%]). It means timer should be resetted on every reequest. Also it means we don't need a separate config option, because the interval would be calculated from session_lifetime. For session_lifetime=0 there would be no keep-alive requests. Another thing is recurring check for new-mail. This would work as is, but... see below. Last but not least. We should provide some "global" recurring action which would work across all tasks so, plugins could bind to it. One "global" action to minimize session race-conditions when few plugins will create their own recurring requests on the same time. In mail task we could "bind" our check-recent action to this global action. In my opinion this would be a much clearer solution and would give as some additional possibilities: - possibility to disable recurring checks (for new mail etc.) at all, - better overall performance because keep-alive out of mail task will be executed less frequently I think also, we could rename keep_alive option description ("Check for new messages on") into something like "Update system state (check for new mail, etc.) on", and move it to User Interface section, so we could use it as our global action interval. ps. I'm not sure we should change draft auto-save interval in any way to fit into this.
