Problem solved! Actually, my problem wasn't the same as yours, but thanks to a clue I got from what you said, I was able to figure it out. I noticed that if I tried to have it log in to an account without a password, it would work, and I had the same problem with another application some time ago... Newer versions of MySQL use a password hashing scheme that is not compatible with older versions, and applications designed to work with the older version can't handle the newer one. The easiest way to fix that is by doing this: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON roundcube.* TO roundcube@localhost IDENTIFIED BY OLD_PASSWORD('roundcube'); This sets the password using the old hashing mechanism, and after that, RoundCube is now working. I just subscribed to this mailing list, so hopefully this question hasn't been asked a thousand times, but I couldn't find any archives of the users list, only the dev list. Anyway, I'm trying to set up RoundCube on my personal web server. I've set up a database and edited the config files appropriately, but when I try to access index.php, I get the following error: DB Error in /home/speed/public_html/roundcube/program/include/rcube_db.inc (63): DB Error: connect failed Fatal error: Call to undefined function: query() in /home/speed/public_html/roundcube/program/include/rcube_db.inc on line 124 I've poked around a little bit, and I have no idea what's wrong, but I'll admit that I don't know much about PHP. If it matters, I'm using Apache 1.3.20, PHP 4.4.1, and MySQL 4.1.16. Thanks, P. J.

[RoundCube Users] Setting up RoundCube Mail

it's my first run at RoundCube Mail. I love the ajax aspect of it. I've looked at the demo site and it looks promising. It does have a few features I love and it has a few things I wish were implemented (Search? Spellcheck?) I believe I've followed most of the docs and here is what I'm getting when I try to access the main page: Warning: main(include/rcube_shared.inc): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/roundcubemail/index.php on line 66 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'include/rcube_shared.inc' (include_path='./:/usr/lib/php4/bin/program:/usr/lib/php4/bin/program/lib:.:/usr/share/php4:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/roundcubemail/index.php on line 66 line 66 contains: require_once('include/rcube_shared.inc'); which doesn't exist. but there is an include dir under program/include should I move the program/* to the cwd? Thanks for any help, Joe.

One thing I have noticed whilst using Roundtree is that sent & trash are not sycned/updates with my mail client as I would expect. For example if I sent 'x' mails during the day none appear on my home email client, but are still present within RoundCube.

[RoundCube Users] How to enable russian?

Hello! I've just installed RoundCube Webmail (roundcube_webmail_0.1-20051021.tar.gz) and have a problem with displaying emails written in russian (windows-1251, koi-8r, utf-8). Russian text is garbled (converted to ÀÀ, åñññ!!! Õîòü). But, for example, latvian text with special characters is displayed as should be (chars converted to &#CHAR_CODE;). How to handle russian? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

I download cvs files from today 14.01.2006, and install clean roundcube webmail. First problem is that: when enter first time username,and pass i got login page once more time, but url is changed with long string of... Other problem is that when i try to login i got: IMAP Error: Could not connect to mail.server.com at port 143: Success Ok my mail server is down.... But there should be at end insteed Success=Failed string or.... Thnx for great product :)

OK, I've got mine going also, but php, or my connection string wasn't the problem. I'm running Webmin, and created my database and db user for roundcube through it. >From the Webmin interface I granted all rights to the user, but it still wasn't connecting. See error below.
