Update 0.8.3 released

Dear subscribers Today we can announce another service release of the Roundcube webmail package. This update adds small bug fixes and improvements to the 0.8 stable series. It also fixes a possible, although unintended, DoS to the webserver running Roundcube. See http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Changelogfor details. Updates 0.8.1 and 0.7.3 released [UPDATED]

Hello again What an embarrassing mistake not updating the version number when publishing a new release. Sigh! Please sorry for that! But now the packages are updated and the version definitely is 0.8.1. Sorry y'all, that release definitely came out too easy. It's right, we forgot to update the version number inside the package. A fixed package will follow soon. Therefore we just published an update release adding bug fixes, some minor feature improvements and, most important, two fixes for a recently reported XSS vulnerability in Roundcube's HTML message handling. At the same same time, we also pushed out a small update for the 0.7 series with some of the important fixes back-ported. That's for all of you who didn't dare to switch to the new and shiny 0.8 release series. Release 0.8 (stable) with new skin is out

Hello folks, We're proud to finally announce the release of version 0.8 with the brand new skin, codename "Larry", becoming the new default UI for Roundcube. After two preview releases and a lot of fine-tuning, the new design by http://bueroflint.com has now grown up. But to all the nostalgics out there: don't worry! The old skin still remains part of the package and will be maintained for at least one more major release. Beside the new UI, this version also contains more bugfixes and mprovements (see ) as well as some code refactorings. Another major change since the last stable release is the updated license which is now GPL v3+ with exceptions for skin & plugins. Read more about that on http://roundcube.net/license After lots of testing and collecting your feedback, this version is considered stable and we recommend to update all productive installations of Roundcube. Get the new version from http://roundcube.net/download Finally, some important notes for sysadmins to deploy the new Roundcube: * The new skin brings an entirely new look to the webmail application. Please carefully plan a roll-out of the new version and prepare your users accordingly. * We're getting a lot of support requests from users who are under the impression that Roundcube is a public service such as Gmail or Hotmail. Unfortunately we cannot help these people and thus we'd like to encourage everybody to do some branding on your Roundcube installation. You can replace the logo by config (option 'skin_logo') and even more important: the new release now has an option named 'support_url' where everyone should fill in an URL to instructions how to get help for that specific installation of Roundcube. And last but not least: our recent partnership with the Kolab Groupware project is finally showing some results. The Kolab team just published a preview release of their all-new Kolab 3.0 groupware suite including Roundcube as the new web client. Enriched with nice new plugins, Roundcube gives easy access to all relevant groupware functions. Release candidate version 0.8

Hello folks, The stable release with the new skin is getting closer! We just published the release candidate version 0.8 which fixes some more bugs and completes the work on the "Larry" skin. It's now feature complete and everybody is kindly invited to do some more tests with this release and report bugs to our tracker. Have fun!

Goodbye Subversion, hello github

Hello folks Upon several requests from our community we now moved the Roundcube Webmail source code repository from our privately hosted Subversion server to github. With this step we hope to make it easier for anybody to get the source and to contribute patches and improvements. So everybody who was fulling bleeding edge updates from svn.roundcube.net, please visit https://github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail and clone the repository. We're happy to get your pull requests. For bug reports and feature requests please still use or trac platform at http://trac.roundcube.net. The new git repository is also mirrored there but we're still fighting with some configuration and performance issues there. Thanks for your understanding. Best, Thomas

Roundcube 0.8-beta with new skin ready for testing

Hello folks With the just published version 0.8-beta we proudly release the all new user interface design of Roundcube, codename "Larry" out into the wild. It isn't enabled by default but you can easily enable and test the new look by setting $rcmail_config['skin'] = 'larry'; in your local config/main.inc.php file. Many thanks again to our volunteer designer at http://bueroflint.com for the great work! Some plugins may not yet provide templates and styles for the new skin, so expect certain things to appear broken. We hereby kindly invite all plugin developers to adapt their plugins to the new skin. Said that, we'd also like to mention that Internet Explorer 6 is no longer supported from this version on. Roundcube itself still works with IE6 but the new skin doesn't and we'll officially drop IE6 support anytime soon. It has just been around for too long... Beside the new UI, this version also contains some bugfixes and improvements (see http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Changelog) as well as some code refactorings. These can potentially break some plugins if they use calls to renamed or refactored functions. Please watch your logs and in case you should notice any errors, please report them to the according plugin developers. In addition to the technical and visual changes, starting with this release, Roundcube is now licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) Version 3 or later (with exceptions for skins & plugins) as we recently announced on our website: http://roundcube.net/license. Please note that this is a beta release and we recommend to test it in a separate environment. The new skin most likely requires some more CSS hacking until we're ready for the 0.8 stable release.
