Dear RoundCube users
The first service update for RoundCube Webmail 0.1-stable is now
available. It contains important bug fixes and updates of some
incomplete localization files. We recommend to update all
installations of 0.1-stable. Download the package from
https://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=139281&filename=ro…
and read the UPGRADING instructions to find out how to update.
Note: this update is still compatible with PHP 4 but future releases
will only run on PHP 5.
Have fun!
~Thomas

Dear subscribers
After more than two years of development we're proud to announce the
first stable version of RoundCube Webmail. It's not as feature rich as
we'd like it to be but the released version is considered to run
stable for a productive environment. Thanks to our users we fixed many
bugs and added some nice new features since the first 0.1-alpha
version was published in 2005. So go ahead and upgrade your
installations now! Download the latest release from
http://roundcube.net/downloads
A more or less complete list of changes is available at
http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Changelog
The TinyMCE-based HTML message composition is now included but should
still be considered as experimental. Please also note that this is the
last release that runs on PHP 4. As suggested by the GoPHP5 project
RoundCube will be PHP 5 only in future versions.
If you want to report bugs, please use our tracker but read the
instructions (http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Howto_ReportIssues)
first.
Have fun!
~Thomas

Hi everybody,
The first stable release of RoundCube is coming up soon. Yeah!
After adding some new features I'd like to call all translators to
update the localization files in order to get everything ready for the
release. Please use http://translator.roundcube.net/ to find the
missing texts and then submit the updated files to the dev mailing
list.
Thanks a lot!

Dear subscribers
After a long period of silence we can finally announce that the second
release candidate has just been released. This new version comes up
with a lot of improvements and fixed bugs. An HTML message composition
using TinyMCE is also included but disabled by default because it's
still experimental. To enable it you need to set the config parameter
'enable_htmleditor' to true. More changes are listed in the changelog:
http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Changelog
It's recommended to replace your current copy of RoundCube (don't
forget to backup) with this new release. Read the UPGRADING
instructions to see what needs to be done.
Enjoy!

Hi everybody
We kind of automated the publishing process of nightly builds and
therefore removed them form the SourceForge downloads page. You can
now find gzipped archives of SVN snapshots at
http://nightly.roundcube.net
Cheers!

Folks, I've made the changes needed to move the lists to the new home.
There should be no interruption; Bob is running the list in parallel
until DNS fully moves as far as the public DNS caches are concerned.
A quick intro about me:
I'm Jason Fesler, nobody particularly special. I've worked with
mail and usenet for a very long time, including writing a gateway
between uucp/smtp/nntp to/from FidoNet (yes, I have some gray
hairs), and I've had a number of scars fighting spam to keep mail
a relevant and viable medium for my users. I've been working in this
medium since 1993.
I'm reachable as jfesler(a)gigo.com (email, jabber). I'm also reachable
as postmaster(a)lists.roundcube.net (not spam filtered).
Changes for the lists..
For spam reasons, only people who are subscribed, can post. Sorry!
This makes a *huge* difference on mailing list hosting, particularly
for the moderators and list operator (me). You are more than welcome
to subscribe more than once - and, if desired, set your options to "no
mail" mode.
Speaking of options,
http://lists.roundcube.net/mailman/listinfo/devhttp://lists.roundcube.net/mailman/listinfo/usershttp://lists.roundcube.net/mailman/listinfo/announce
Scroll to the bottom field, enter your email address, hit
the "Unsubscribe or edit options" button.
Your password, if you had one previously, is different now. The options
page can mail you your new password. I have not yet earned your trust,
so it would have been inappriate for Bob to send me whatever passwords you
had. You are welcome to change your password (again, above urls).
In case you forget the url - look at the bottom of any post.
You'll find the url for that specific list.
Other changes:
Posting attachments - The attachments will be "detached" and replaced by a
url; the attachments will be web accessible. Sending attachments can get
expensive. This way, only those interested in seeing the picture will
burn up bandwidth fetching it. Likewise, those NOT interested, don't have
to download it. An example is in this post.
Archives - http://lists.roundcube.net has links. The urls for old links
will have changed - there was no way to reliably keep them identical.
Anyone who clicks a link to the old urls will be taken to the top level
page.
The archives now have a search feature. It isn't fancy, but it does work
(just simple ht://dig).
