Squirrelmail to Round Cube Mail User and Address Book Importer Script

Hey All, I have been trying to find something to contribute to this project and finally did. Having all squirrelmail users on my system I wanted to easily import them and their address books into roundcube so I wrote a script to do such a thing. You can download it @ http://www.thinkwebmedia.com/roundcube/rc.tar.gz Simply untar in a web available path, edit in your squirrelmail data path and your roundcube database information and run from your favorite browser. Please send me feedback/bugs/suggestions! My coding is quite rusty so hopefully you guys can deal with that :) This is beta software, so please backup everything. Thanks, Justin

Issue with blank replies from Outlook??

I just downloaded the latest CVS version a few minutes ago hoping this issue may have been resolved, but it appears it still hasn't. I also inquired about this on this list a month or so ago with no response. Roundcube is basically completely unusable at this point for me. The basic issue is that if an email is replied to by Outlook 2003, Roundcube shows the message to be blank. If the email had previous text quoted, this IS shown, but the latest response (at the top of the page) is blank. Any solutions to this? It only seems to happen coming from Outlook 2003 as HTML. Of course that is how I receive most of my mail and replies. Thanks, Max

Signup Page

Hello. Is it possible to set up a page that when the form is completed, it makes a new email account for use with roundcube? So on the page it would have somthing like; Name: User name: Password: Password 2: Alternative Email: Terms and Conditions box (with tick box) Then it makes a new email account and adds the Name to the settings db in roundcube. Postgres?

I've seen a few posts here with people using Postgres over MySQL. Anyone using the latest CVS for such a setup? How about a migration from MySQL to Postgres? Bug validating e-mail address

Hi there! I have been using RoundCube a bit and found a bug regarding validating e-mail addresses. an e-mail address like 'myname(a)c.dk' is not validated as a valid address! I think it's because of the one-letter domain name. It is a valid address, but RoundCube does not like it ;-) Regards Brian

Feature request

Could it be possible to build a change password feature to the RoundCube? I have users who don't have (or never will have) shell access so this is the single most important feature needed to change my RounCube to my primary webmail. -- Kari Päivärinta

czech localization

Hi folks, there is some kind of problem with the czech localization. I'm using the latest cvs version on freebsd 6. The pages have correct windows-1250 charset in the header, but the content of the page has some weird codes inside, which produce rather cyrillic glyphs. Czech (my) language uses latin characters. Btw, I mean it would be better to switch to utf-8 instead of win-1250 Robert

Posible bug with Content-Transfer-Encoding

Hi there! Just installed the latest version of RoundCube webmail (roundcubemail-cvs-20051216) - nice one! But I think i found a bug regarding attachments and the php mail() function. When using the default settings = using php mail() function to send mail, I got this extra line "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit" at the top of the mail - but only in Outlook. Thunderbird (and RoundCube) works fine. I tried using my smtp server (localhost) and then all worked fine. The "problem" is only when a mail is sent with an attachment. Regards Brian Christensen

Hi everybody Because our development mailing list was filled up with support requests and configuration questions, we decided to add a separate list for RoundCube USERS and keep the dev-list for discussions about ongoing development. If you have questions about the installation, configuration and use of RoundCube Webmail, please subscribe and post to users(a)lists.roundcube.net and leave the dev-list to the devs... Also there's a complete archive with all posts to the dev-list available now: http://lists.roundcube.net After I had detected excessive sending of mails on the demo site, I shut it down because it has been used to spread spam mails. Now it's updated to the latest CVS version and sending mails is deactivated. You can compose and submit messages but they won't be delivered to the recipients but copied to the Sent folder as usually. Regards, Thomas

Remote sendmail

Hello All, I emailed earlier regarding a problem with Non-standard remote sendmail ports. It turns out that my problem was due to improper server_name detection in program/include/rcube_smtp.inc line 76. I don't know if your CVS file is different than mine. The line is: $helo_host = !empty($_SERVER['server_name']) ? $_SERVER['server_name'] : 'localhost'; My sendmail server disallows localhost for the EHLO command which is what it would have defaulted to. I guess my provider thought it was a good security measure, I'm no expert so I can't argue either way. Anyway, I fixed this by adding: // use this name instead of the local servername for EHLO command $rcmail_config['smtp_server_name'] = 'loeppky.ca'; to the main.inc.php file and by replacing line 76 with: $helo_host = !empty($_SERVER['server_name']) ? $_SERVER['server_name'] : $CONFIG['smtp_server_name']; This of course means that rcmail_config['smtp_server_name'] needs to be defaulted to 'localhost' for normal/default conditions. I'm sure there is probably a better name than 'smtp_server_name' but I figured you would know better what to name it than I. I'm not even sure if this is the right way to fix the problem, but I figured I would pass it on to you and let you decide what you want to do to handle this in your production code.
