Page Down, Page Up don't work

Is something wrong with the message body box. When I select a message to see I can't scroll up or down with the page up and page down keys (arrows don't work else). I have to use the mouse scroll. trash can and messages count not updating on delete

l deleted contents on inbox/sent folder then deleted trash folder. However the trash (count) still showed a number and the messages count top right still showed a count as well.

Major updates - testing required

Hi everybody After two days of intensive coding (now my girlfriend is offended) I finally rebuilt the caching mechanism which caused many problems and performance issues. Therefore a new database table (messages) was created. There also have been minor changes to the database so please check the SQL scripts. Together with the new caching process, server side sorting was also implemented. When showing the message list, only one page is retrieved from the server and cached.The message cache is complete, after every page has been loaded once. After that, RC attempts just to synchronize the changes. Even if the cache is not complete the loading time should decrease since there's only the message index transmitted and already cached headers will not be reloaded. For further development I will try to start a child process to fetch all message headers in the background but not making the interface wait for it. The new caching implementation is not tested well and that's why I would like the experienced RoundCube administrators and developers to try out the latest CVS. Because the public CVS repository updates several hours or days later, I added a snapshot here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/roundcubemail/roundcubemail-cvs-20051203… I also reworked the database class and tested RoundCube with MySQL, SQLite and Postgres. All initial SQL scripts have been updated and RC should now work correctly with Postgres. Probably there could be some optimization with Postgres but I'm not very familiar with it. For all Postgres users out there, please test RoundCube and don't hesitate to post bugs or suggestions here. Last but not least, I have included the patch for signatures (thanks Craig) and added a drop-down with a charset selection when composing a message. I know that there are still some issues with character encoding especially when getting things over XMLHTTP. Well, that's it for the moment. Next I'll take care of the message searching functionality and after that I think we're ready for an official Beta release. Thanks for your patience! Thomas P.S. Patch for default from_domain (via server variable)

My users unfortunately would be sending email as username@localhost for a good 10 years before they read my email saying "Set up your identity so you don't look like an idiot". Either way I developed a small patch that creates the global config variable "from_domain" and is set to the servers variable MAILDOMAIN as in this example: <VirtualHost *> .. SetEnv MAILDOMAIN mydomain.com .. </VirtualHost> this modifies only the email portion of the identity creation functions, if no MAILDOMAIN it will revert to the default behaviour. Is this just a fixup in what would be a large patchset for better vhost setups? hopefully.

Hi Well I finaly did the update correctly, had this error, patched as you said and I gives another error when reading messages: Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/www/roundcubemail/program/include/rcube_imap.inc on line 483 And I can't read any message.. I have found a fix that works for me: Original: // cache is OK if ($cache_status>0) { $a_index = get_message_cache_index($cache_key, FALSE, $this->sort_field); return array_values($a_index); } Fix: // cache is OK if ($cache_status>0) { $a_index = this->get_message_cache_index($cache_key, FALSE, $this->sort_field); return array_values($a_index); } I'm not sure yet how you usually accept patches or fixes, so please let me know if there is a format you prefer. I attached one in diff -uNr formatting, and should be applied with -p1 from toplevel directory. I make no guarantees on the quality of this though, as I have only tested on one server. RC with PHP5

I'm having lot's of problems witha server migration I just did which has PHP5 (the new server, the old one used PHP4) and Horde+IMP (which as I read, will not support PHP5 in older versions). Hi I've noticed, that users who don't know roundcube yet, after composing email click on an arrow icon. Maybe it would be a good idea to change or put "send" icon on the "first place" ? regards -- Wojtek

PostgreSQL + Encoding

Hello, I recently received an e-mail containing German umlauts (ä,ö,ü), which produced the following error when loading the message: DB Error in /var/www/webmail/program/include/rcube_db.inc (283): DB Error: unknown error Query: <snip> [nativecode=ERROR: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UNICODE": 0xfc7220] Apparently, the error is connected to the message's original encoding, which is: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" I'm running Roundcube on Apache 2.0 with PostgreSQL 7.4 as a backend. I have not tested this error with the 8.0/8.1 releases yet. Any ideas?

Hello all, As mentioned previously we are looking at putting Roundcube out as a dev client in the following setup; L O C A L H O S T | External Roundcube -> Perdition -> IMAP Server \ Roundcube and Perdition are on the same server. The IMAP servers are seperate entities. The config of roundcube means that in this instance I would need to set $rcmail_config['default_host'] = 'localhost'; Unfortunately this means the knock on effect is that any logged in users gets 'username'@'localhost' as their originating email address. Is there any way for me to specify a default domain for email addresses or to set this parameter on a per-user basis? The alternative solution is to attempt to pre-populate the roundcube database with our user ID's or to ensure that our users know that when they initially log in that they will need to setup their identities before they are allowed to send email. Your thoughts on this are appreciated.
