blank lines in header

What's going on with the blank lines in the header of emails sent from roundcube? Some things handle it well, but Gmail doesn't. Thanks, Jason

Non-displaying attachments

Hello all, I recently installed Roundcube on my home mail server. Love it. I realize it's alpha, but I already love it. Biggest initial complaint is that it seems to not display attachments. I have a few messages in my INBOX that are sent as plain-text and HTML and include some extra attachments (i.e. MS Office documents, jpegs). RoundCube shows the HTML entry, but doesn't show the pics or docs for download. Is there some configuration bit I can set to make this work correctly? I'll post about it on my blog - http://portaldeveloper.blogspot.com, will k try to get a visio diagram in there.. But here's the jist of it.. 1) Mailrouter (postfix w/ ldap support) 2) Mailhost1 (postfix / mailDir delivery / courier-imapd w/ ldap support) 3) Mailhost2 (postfix / mailDir delivery / courier-imapd w/ ldap support) The mailhosts are individual partitions of the entire mail delivery landscape. Basically, each server holds it's own set of users - let's say 75K per server. OpenLDAP will be installed on the mailhost(s), and will only hold user accounts and deliver only to users that it services (share nothing approach). we'll have a ldap tree like this dc=testbed, dc=com ou=vmail, dc=testbed, dc=com ou=mailhost1, ou=vmail, dc=testbed, dc=com ou=mailhost2, ou=vmail, dc=testbed, dc=com mailhost1 has an ldap server (master) that services users under the subtree ou=mailhost1, ou=vmail, dc=testbed, dc=com mailhost2 has an ldap server (master) that services users under the subtree ou=mailhost2, ou=vmail, dc=testbed, dc=com now for the mailrouter, it's also has it's own local ldap server, which sync-replicates from the two master. Basically, it will tie together those two subtrees into one consistent view for use by postfix on the mailrouter, the end result is an smtp forward to the proper backend mailhost for local delivery. so that a ldap subsearch on ou=vmail, dc=testbed, dc=com with something like (&(objectClass=CourierMailAccount)(mail=someusers(a)somemail.com)) will return the mailHost attribute <-- postfix will automatically forward the message to the properly mailhost for local delivery. Now for horizontal scalability, it's easy enough to add a new mailhost that will service another 75k users. If the mailrouter is becoming a bottle - it's also quite easy to scale it by adding another mailrouter box. HUB = mailrouter SPOKE = mailhosts If you want to prototype such a system and need help in configuring all the various bit, e-mail me and i'll send you the compile flags, configuration files.. Small omission in rcube_imap.inc

Hi, Line 483 of ./program/include/rcube_imap.inc is missing its "self" instance and needs to become: $this->get_message_cache_index() Without this, messages fail to render and the following starts to appear in the error log: [14-Dec-2005 12:34:57] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_message_cache_index() in ./program/include/rcube_imap.inc on line 483 Regards, John.

Error when sending e-mail also can't delete

I'm using the latest CVS version of round cube and here are a couple things I am seeing. 1) any time I send an e-mail I get this error "IMAP Error in /opt/www/html/adnd.com/html/rq/program/steps/mail/sendmail.inc (): Could not save message in Sent" 2) I can't seem to delete e-mail. I highlight it, hit the delete icon, it disapears, but the next time I go to my inbox, it is there again. -Steve

Mailto links should send from within Roundcube.

Mailto links should be redirected back into Roundcube so that it composes and sends the email itself rather than the default mail client on the system. Personally, here are my plans 1) Move backend system into a hub and spoke model for scalability (Mail Delivery, and IMAP) - I'll be more than happy to discuss how this is implemented for people wanting to run such a large scale site.. 2) Modify parts of round cube and make it LDAP aware to support above. I'll be more than happy to give it back to the roundcube developers. 3) Will take a look at the php backend used by roundcube, and will see and decide if I want to rewrite it in Java and use a distributed-cache / replicated cache (eq. Tangosol Coherence, or for something free and cheap - the Jboss TreeCache), coupled with a cache-loader, and write back cache support - will allow it to scale better horizontally. The app IMHO just from looking at itis too DB centric, it's hard to scale a vertical resource. G

Hi everyone, First off let me just say that I am *amazed* and very excited to have an app such as RoundCube available. My congrats to the developers! I was having an issue though. I'm running the latest CVS from tonight (12 Dec 2005) on Debian Sarge, Courier-IMAP 3.0.8, Postfix 2.1.5, Procmail 3.22, Apache 2.0.54, PHP 4.3.10, and MySQL 4.0.24 on a dedicated server. Everything worked beautifully except for one intermittant problem. The error I received was this: "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_message_cache_index() in /var/www/mail/program/include/rcube_imap.inc on line 483" The error came mainly on deep subdirs when trying to open a message, but occasionally happened within the Inbox as well. I have found a fix that works for me: Original: // cache is OK if ($cache_status>0) { $a_index = get_message_cache_index($cache_key, FALSE, $this->sort_field); return array_values($a_index); } Fix: // cache is OK if ($cache_status>0) { $a_index = this->get_message_cache_index($cache_key, FALSE, $this->sort_field); return array_values($a_index); } I'm not sure yet how you usually accept patches or fixes, so please let me know if there is a format you prefer. I attached one in diff -uNr formatting, and should be applied with -p1 from toplevel directory. I make no guarantees on the quality of this though, as I have only tested on one server. Bugs in RoundCube

We have found 3 bugs in roundcube: - Roundcube doesn't know about daylight savings. We are in New Zealand and you can only choose New Zealand GMT + 12:00 (NZST), but at the moment we are in GMT+13:00 (NZDT) so messages show the incorrect data on them if you set to New Zealand. - When sending emails, localhost is hardcoded in the HELO when sendnig email. It should send the HELO of the machine which its coming from (ie HELO webmail.example.com - the machines hostname) not HELO localhost (HELO localhost should only be used when sending to localhost) - When viewing the Source headers (when using some imap servers) shows the headers in reverse order (ie the Recieved Headers are at the bottom etc) (can be reproduced using dbmail imap server, but it doesn't happen on dovecott imap server) Thanks Craig Whitmore Orcon Internet
