displaying imap errors

Hi !! IMAP w/ STARTTLS?

hi all- just found this project on freshmeat and thought i'd give it a go since SquirrelMail is starting to look a bit dated ( tho it works like a charm ). wasn't sure how to search the list archives, so apologies if this has been covered, but can i connect to my IMAP server via STARTTLS? "ssl://server:993" obviously isn't doing the trick in the config file. thanks in advance, the app looks really terrific ( the screenshots, at least! ) cheers, darren david

Large Install

How well suited is RoundCube to an install w/ about 700,000 mailboxes on Courier-IMAP. The load will be somewhere between 800 and 2500 users at any given time using the system (150-350 views/s on apache, 200qps on mysql avg). SquirrelMail is the current client, pretty light and fast, and it's IMAP routines are amazing when you have high load. I know RC uses IlohaMail as its IMAP provider, but when we tried Iloha it did not perform well under load. Has anybody attempted such a large setup with RoundCube before? I'm shopping around for a new webmail client due to the nearly unskinnable nature of SquirrelMail. The users keep blabbering about making webmail look nice, or something crazy like that. -- Christopher A. I've managed to test my issue a bit further, and it's not quite what I thought. My first login is fine, but if I try to open a mail message it hangs. This appears to be in the IMAP server - but I can't confirm that yet. Until the IMAP server (or whatever) times this connection out, I can't use RoundCube for anything except for viewing the login screen and (sometimes) the inbox (cached in MySQL, I'm guessing). optimizing rcub_imap.inc

Hi !! just looking at _list_headers i noticed that deleted headers are also cached, is there any reason for that ? Also problems related to users having lots of emails in the inbox folder cause big problems, just about 1000 messages in a user inbox causes that the login process lasts forever. If in safe_mode and execution time and memory usage are limited users with big inbox are totally unable to login. Fw: Imstallation Problems

Fixed it, the username had been truncated when i created the database user, and i hadnt realised.. the error wasnt very clear, maybe this was the Pear::DB? Normaly i'd expect: Access Denied for user@localhost. (Using Password YES) or something to that effect.. anyway.. its now running fine afaik... but when i try to login to a mail server it doesnt work.. http://www.ircsucks.com/mail (testing(a)ircsucks.com | password | mail.ircsucks.com OR localhost) When i use the same server info that roundcube is on it goes wierd but still errors: Warning: fopen(./logs/errors): failed to open stream: Keine Berechtigung in /home/ircsucks/public_html/mail/program/include/bugs.inc on line 67 IMAP Error in (): Authentication failed (LOGIN): "a001 NO LOGIN failed" wth? Hope somebody can help :) Thanks Michael PS: I'm very interested in getting this working under cPanel (www.cpanel.net) cPanel uses http auth to send the vars to the script, (they currently use squirrelmail/horde/neomail) and IMO they all suck :P ... if i could actually get this to work, perhaps i can use the lil php knowledge i have to help get it working with cPanel?

Hi! I just installed RoundCube and everything seems to work fine except for two things: 1. I use bincimap as my imap server with the maildir++ depot (same as courier-imap), which stores all the users folders in the INBOX. If I leave imap_root empty in the config (as is the default) all the folders are shown as being under the INBOX, but the Sent, Drafts and Trash folders are not assigned icons. If I change imap_root to "INBOX/" the folders are shown with correct icons but the Inbox disappears from the list and cannot be selected! 2. I use qmail with vmailmgr as my MTA. I can login fine with virtual users, but local users seem to generate some kind of loop and I cannot login, it just loads forever. If I check my imap servers logs it shows that the authentification was successful, RoundCubes logs show no errors and neither do the apache-logs. I also have SquirrelMail installed and it works flawlessly as do stand-alone clients like Mozilla Thunderbird. I realise that RoundCube is still in its infancy but the project looks very promising already! Alas I'm not a programmer, so I cannot contribute to the project (except with bug-reports ;). NEW per user smtp auth
