I see two important point: 1- when i send an email to gmail, the sender is (unknown sender), not email and not name. Yahoo and others webmail it's work. 2- when i attached a file, i can't delete it. I think that this function will be see in the stable version. Great Job! Regards! JP

SSL connection problems to imap server
by david 07 Mar '06

07 Mar '06

I recently upgraded my imap server (dovecot) to the most recent version. The imap server seems to be running correctly as I can connect to it with regular clients (thunderbird). The server is definately listening on port 993. However roundcube cannot connect for some reason. The error is: 03-Mar-2006 12:13:56 -0800] IMAP Error: Could not connect to ssl://smachimo./myserver/.us at port 993: Operation now in progress in on line 0 I tried switching the settings to connect to localhost as well: [03-Mar-2006 12:18:35 -0800] IMAP Error: Could not connect to ssl://localhost at port 993: Operation now in progress in on line 0 Does anyone know what "Operation now in progress in on line 0" means?

Hi I recently tried to install roundcube, everything went well except that i was greeted by a blank login srceen. I did everything as described at ww.paulstamatiou.com no hicups and rechecked it as well. I turned on the displaying of error messages and all i get is two notices about IMAP_USE_HEADER_DATE and _auth variables. I did some digging and if i comment out session_start() in /program/include/main.inc the page displays asking me for username, password AND server. Why would it ask for a server? What server? With the sessions turned off the url looks like: mail/?_auth=c5f3f852676e59bb920a0069007482ef597ec03f&_task=mail which previously wasnt there. Can anyone tell me whats going on & how i can fix it? Re: Moderate message for RoundCube Users

Hi Randy, The email address you sent the below email from doesn't seem to be subscribed to the RoundCube users list and as such the email was put into a moderation queue. I've approved the email but would ask you to subscribe to this list (perhaps in nomail mode if you also subscribe with another address) if you're going to use this email address to post to the list in the future. Error 500 - Service Currently Not Available
by Chris Wales 05 Mar '06

05 Mar '06

Hi folks, I set up Roundcube Beta 0.1 recently - set all the options in db and main config files, uploaded the full lot, created the database - and all I get is a screen with the title "Error 500" and a big message saying "Service Not Currently Available", followed by a smaller message saying "Error No. 1f4)". I tried looking in the logs directory inside the directory I installed Roundcube into, but there's absolutely nothing inside it. Permissions on it are set to 644 and owner as the webserver (that owner worked fine of previous versions of the program). Any suggestions? Thanks! Chris

server error 500
by lucy barker 04 Mar '06

04 Mar '06

I have just installed Roundcube as a replacement for the default webmail apps available from my hosting company: horde, squirrelmail. The installation seems to have gone smoothly having followed the install instructions, however, i a get a server error 500 when trying to access the login page. The Roundcube page displays "SERVICE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE! Error No. 1f4" Error log gives the following: "PHP Error: Error loading template for 'login' in /home/xxxxx/public_html/webmail/program/include/main.inc on line 944" I have deleted the .htaccess file created by Roundcube to see if this helped (as it did with some others) but it was no fix in this instance. Has anyone seen this before and know what this refers to? Is this something to do with the Apache httpd.conf file and permissions? TIA,

IMAP port and more.
by GunFro 04 Mar '06

Hi. I just got this beautiful package the other day and just love the content, RoundCude Webmail. But there are some questions though. At first i coulden't loggin, checked the logfiles and... nothing. I checked around in the config file a bit and found this, well nothing new then. $rcmail_config['default_host'] = 'localhost'; $rcmail_config['default_port'] = 143; Well I'm running on another imap port so I changed it to, 587, but nothing. Then I changed to $rcmail_config['default_host'] = 'localhost:587'; $rcmail_config['default_port'] = 143; Now i just works fine !? Why dosen't 'default_port' work ? One other thing, I mainly use firefox and when i get a mail with a link in it I cant right click and choose "open in new window" thats sad. Regards Gunnar

mysql cache, old opera problem and much more...
by toxygen 04 Mar '06

Recently i've been checking lsof and found mysql to have opened many files concerning roundcube with every login that number increases, following: darken:/# lsof | grep roundcube -i | wc -l 192 darken:/# lsof | grep roundcube -i | wc -l 204 darken:/# lsof | grep roundcube -i | wc -l 216 twelve new files opened each time. I'm not expert on mysql, nor i studied the roundcube source, so I'm asking whether it is "normal" behaviour of mysql&roundcube. Next thing which really disappoints me is the already posted problem about unwanted logging out (session invalid or expired) after clicking on inbox while reading message. Also there are few more similar problems, clicking on folders become impossible after some time/action in roundcube. I've read through the ML recently and found many suggestions very reasonable (draft system, folder hilighting, ajax implementing instead of dom...). You guys are doing very good job and I keep my fingers crossed about roundcube. (btw during writing this mail in roundcube it logged me out 7 times (without any interaction) - if opera hadn't had memory about textfields in passed pages I would have lost all writing) keep good job some stuff at the end... if it helps, the files opened are: mysqld 32209 mysql 31u REG 8,1 4096 25221765 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/session.MYI mysqld 32209 mysql 32u REG 8,1 16104 25221766 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/session.MYD mysqld 32209 mysql 34u REG 8,1 2048 25221768 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/users.MYI mysqld 32209 mysql 45u REG 8,1 424 25221769 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/users.MYD mysqld 32209 mysql 46u REG 8,1 3072 25221762 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/identities.MYI mysqld 32209 mysql 47u REG 8,1 280 25221763 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/identities.MYD mysqld 32209 mysql 48u REG 8,1 6144 25219767 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/cache.MYI mysqld 32209 mysql 49u REG 8,1 1908 25219768 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/cache.MYD mysqld 32209 mysql 51u REG 8,1 7168 25221771 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/messages.MYI mysqld 32209 mysql 52u REG 8,1 114240 25221772 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/messages.MYD mysqld 32209 mysql 55u REG 8,1 3072 25219807 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/contacts.MYI mysqld 32209 mysql 58u REG 8,1 344 25221760 /var/lib/mysql/roundcubemail/contacts.MYD
