howdy, new to this list and this software, but i like what i see :-) we are evaluating roundcube for integration into a larger application. (after a week of hacking squirrelmail, i'm glad a decision was made to try roundcube...) a few of questions: my mail server is volta.babel.com.au, but i want my email domain to be babel.com.au. is it possible to set the from address domain to something other than the $rcmail_config['default_host']? i couldn't see an option for this. also, we want to integrate the authentication and error handling of roundcube into our application wide mechanisms. i've just hacked index.php so that a logged-in user has their inbox loaded without having to log in to roundcube. i'm wondering if making the authentication configurable, such that this can be done via some config options/plugins is desirable for roundcube? i'm happy to work on working up some patches if there's interest in this. pgp and s/mime: where is it at? we're going to need this, we've done it before and will do it ourselves again if needs be, but it would be better to work with something/somebody rather than just do it ourselves. comments? cheers justin

Courier Problems

So far, these are the problems we have found with RoundCube/Courier. - Delete messages is not working, they remove instantly, but when you login/go back to that folder, they are still there. - Cannot open messages until the dirty fix is used, messages will remain unread due to fix - Sending email seems to be causing a problem also, it times out, but on occasions appears to send We could also use a few alt tags on the icons as a side note, even I'm clicking logout on occasion instead of the delete icon :p Anyone have any idea of a release date for a fix or just a code change to resolve these? Unable to open "unread" message

Greetings, I am running 20051007 with Courier IMAP (4.x), and am experiencing the following oddity: If I attempt to open a new or unread message, the page will wait and wait, but nothing will happen. I tried this in both Firefox and IE, with the same results. I see this error in the error log: [08-Okt-2005 16:51:35] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in /var/www/html/roundmail/program/lib/imap.inc on line 104 If I select the message and forward it, I am able to read the message in the forward window. Also, if I mark the message as "read" and then open it, it opens just fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Dave Davenport registration(a)firebin.net http://dave.firebin.net

The roadmap

Hi everybody, I know, it's not a real roadmap but I tried to put together all major and minor To dos for the RoundCube development. The list can be seen here: http://roundcube.net/?p=roadmap There are already people working on some issues like (cache redesign, plugin API, virtusertable, richtext composing) and I will come up with a real roadmap showing a few milestones. For all developers out there, who offered some help, please let me know, if you would like to take care of one or more lines of the To do list. Once we moved the project to the Trac system, the coordination of development will hopefully be better than it is right now... Regards, Thomas

roundcube:include files not being included

Hey everyone, I was having a problem with my server and RoundCube WebMail, but I've solved it, below is the problem and how i solved it. My problem. RoundCube wasn't loading including any files in the templates that use "roundcube:include file"..." ". I knew this wasn't a permissions problem. I also could use RoundCube, I just didn't have the header, or taskbar (Thus couldn't access the Address Book, Settings, etc...), or any of the status messages (Loading, etc). First of, my server specs: OS X 10.3.9 Server Default Apache install Mark Liyanage's php4 http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/ The Fix: In /program/include/main.inc, in the parse_rcube_xml function, in the "include" case. I changed: $path = realpath($CONFIG['skin_path'].$attrib['file']); to: $path = $CONFIG['skin_path'].$attrib['file']; That fixed it. Everything seems fine now. I'm not sure if this is any help to anyone else, but I thought I'd put it out there. Also note, I'm using the same php package on 10.4.2 Client and I wasn't having this issue. Roydon Gyles-Bedford

Idea for page reload

Hey Everyone, I was pondering the message page reload. I think the best way would be to have another php script that checks if there is a new message using ajax, and if so would cause a window.location.reload(). The ajax/js would be easy to write but really not sure on the php script. What do you all think? Justin

Hi Thomas, This looks great, thank you. I did not see anything on IMAP folder management (e.g. rename, new folder, delete folder). Is this intended to be in scope for the core project? Or is this something that would be better as a plugin? (it seems core to me, but my perspective is known at times to be suspect...) New Wiki/site location

Not an "official developer", but here's my take on things: - We're trying to make the move from using sourceforge's utilities to hosting our own website through bob johanssen's server space/bandwidth. beta.roundcube.net will be the website once the website has been moved over, and the trac issue tracking system is in place. - http://roundcubewiki.baizman.net is an unofficial wiki that's supposed to provide a place for documentation efforts to take place until the new site comes up. Once trac is installed, it has it's own wiki, so all (or any) of the documentation on the unofficial wiki will then be moved over onto the official wiki. New Wiki/site location

Hi guys - I'm getting a bit confused with the recent posts about wiki, trac, etc - and can't seem to find the "official" Wiki/site. http://beta.roundcube.net doesn't seem to resolve for me, and there's obviously http://roundcubewiki.baizman.net which has sprouted up too, but doesn't seem truly "active" yet. Can one of the official developers shout out with what the official plan is, so we don't end up with information splintering? Cheers, Mark.
